Tone
Alert Receivers
WSI offers a Tone Alert Receiver (TAR) to fit
any requirement. The OnAlert® line is a robust indoor warning
and communication solution. OnAlert TARs are activated using
WSI’s secure web-based communications processor so they
can be activated locally or from virtually anywhere. The AdaptAlert™ line
is tone activated, so it can be added to an existing tone activated
environment such as an outdoor siren system without additional
encoder equipment. Either product line can be integrated seamlessly
into text messaging and e-mail systems to provide comprehensive
alert and warning capabilities.
OnAlert®
OnAlert radios are activated individually, by customer defined common
interest groups (i.e., schools, hospitals, day cares, first responders,
etc.) or by geographic zones. The radios can also be activated with
an all call. The radios will chirp if they require attention, that
is, if the battery will no longer charge or if they have not received
a signal (time-update) from the activation point within a 24-hour
period. Each radio has a self-contained lead acid battery that is
continually trickle charged so it can operate for long periods in
the absence of commercial power. Once activated, OnAlert radios emit
an 85 dB alert tone followed by an operator selected pre-recorded
or live public address message. Synthesized audio utilizing Text-to-Speech
(TTS) is another valuable option. Audio files can also be uploaded
and played on demand. The radios are triggered via a time-synchronized,
secure, AFSK activation sequence. All radios are capable of tying
in to a standard 600 Ohm PA system. WSI also offers an ADA compliant
Strobe and Text Display for hearing impaired and high noise environments.
WSI has offered OnAlert® Tone Alert Radios since 1991. These radios
were designed according to stringent specifications for the Chemical
Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP). We currently offer
a VHF (150-170 MHz) and UHF (850-870 MHz) model that are field programmable
to any frequency within the respective band segment. WSI has produced
and delivered more than 70,000 of the OnAlert radio receivers for emergency
management with excellent performance. Other clients include military
bases, school systems, oil refineries, textile mills, national laboratories,
and County EMA offices. AdaptAlert™
The new AdaptAlert VHF alerting receiver is field-programmable to any
single frequency within the 148 to 172 MHz band segment. It responds
to any single-tone,
two-tone, DTMF or combination of activation sequences. The built-in flexibility
to change frequency and activation code is your protection against equipment
obsolescence.
In this world of uncertainty, many organizations are not prepared for
the changes in communications space allocation as a result of spectrum
demand. This WSI radio provides you with an easy mechanism to change
not only frequency but also signaling mode. This means no crystals to
change, ever, and no need to replace expensive plug-in tone decoders
when your requirements change.
WSI offers an optional programming tool
and software that will run on any office PC using a Windows operating
system or the units can be factory programmed to your specifications.
Our alerting receivers are available in narrow-band and wide-band versions
to accommodate your system requirements. Both offer excellent sensitivity
and adjacent channel signal rejection. The alerting tone level is sufficiently
loud (>85dB SPL) to be heard in most noisy locations or large offices.
For high noise environments, such as a gymnasium, factory or warehouse,
we offer optional plug-in accessories for extending audio and visual
notification. These accessories provide effective alert and notification
for hearing impaired and other special needs recipients.
